The Collection

Todd Patkin has the largest collection of Brian Fox’s earliest works. The earlier works of an artist are often their most sought after pieces. For example, when Brian came onto the sports art scene in the early 2000’s many of these pieces were landmark achievements in Fox’s career, helping to bring him the notoriety and fame built over the last two decades.

The Miracle on Ice

Truly an incredible item

Painted by the number one sport’s artist today

Rated the #1 Sport’s Moment of the 20th Century by Sport’s Illustrated

Huge 4 feet by 6 feet one of a kind original painting depicting the moment the young American olympic team shocked the world by beating the Soviet team.

“Brian brilliantly captured the monumental showdown and our Olympic team’s triumph against the Soviet Union and that was how our relationship forged. No other artist can commemorate an iconic moment in sports history like Brian can. In my opinion, this is the most valued item our team signed, since the Olympics.” – Jim Craig

“WOW !!! This is the most amazing piece I have ever seen. It brings me back 30 years to the greatest moment in my life!” – Buzz Schneider

“This is a fantastic depiction of our 1980 team – it really captures the feeling we all had as Olympians and Americans.” – Dave Silk

Broadcaster Al Michael’s words, “Do you believe in miracles” on February 22, 1980 are frozen in time. Still instantly identifiable 39 years after this team of amateur Olympians representing the United States beat a seemingly unbeatable Soviet national hockey team as the Cold War again was intensifying.

This painting is signed by all 20 players and also has quotes written right on the painting by Jim Craig (“Do you believe in miracles?”) and Mike Eruzione (“We shocked the world”).

Also, it should be noted that one of the original players is now deceased, thus adding huge value to all pieces signed earlier containing all 20 signatures including this one. Next year is the 40th anniversary and 2030 is the 50th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice.

2007 All Star Game Paintings

Absolutely gorgeous centerpieces for any room. Two huge original 4 feet by 5 feet All Star paintings signed by all of the players in the 2007 All Star game

Brian was commissioned by MLB to do these two paintings at AT&T Park in San Francisco. He painted live during the Home Run Derby and during the All Star game itself.

These paintings were the first of three sets MLB commissioned Brian to create for the All Star event. One painting depicts the American League and the other the National League, each painting is completely signed by the team and includes an MLB hologram. The game was the 78th ceremonial game and Willie Mays threw out the first pitch. This was also the year the Red Sox won the World Series. Also, this game had the most Red Sox playing in any All Star game to date.

So what’s with the werewolf?

As Brian says, “It was morning, late 2014, when I visited rock god Steven Tyler at his home. Dressed in a terrycloth robe, his fingernails painted black, he greeted me like some long-lost cousin at his front door. Right away, I marveled at how this man–this American icon–is so much bigger than life. He’s one of the coolest guys on the planet, I thought. I wonder what he’d look like if he were a werewolf? All of a sudden, a wave of images washed over me; I saw a werewolf strolling around his house in a terrycloth robe and leopard print pajamas, the tag line Cool never goes out of style stitched to the worn robe. I was already hooked on the idea!”

Also, Christoff had one of the best NHL careers of all 20 players. He was selected in the first round in the 1978 draft by the Minnesota North Stars. He was one of the stars during their loss in the 1981 Stanley Cup to the New York Islanders.
